It’s the time of year where everyone wants some extra time with their loved ones. However as a director you may be more concerned with hitting deadlines and ensuring jobs are getting done.
So how do you keep your employees motivated, happy and productive during distracting times?
Get it right and you’ll have a happy smiley workforce, jobs wrapped up (ho ho ho) and a relaxing lead up to the New Year. Get it wrong and you can expect absenteeism, glum faces and a bare minimum in all aspects of work.
It’s time to throw away your Grinch hat and build some joy into being at work. Creating that festive feeling can’t be so difficult; a huge bowl of chocolate, Wham on the radio and a sparkly Christmas tree will go a long way (well whatever works for your people!)
If you have the budget, reward hard work with a meal or party. If budgets are tight, order some pizza’s for lunch and open a bottle or two of prosecco on the last day of work. When staff feel happy, loved and appreciated, they will work just as hard during a time where the office is the last place that they want to be.
The question is can you afford not to be a jolly old soul?
